Olympus I do love you.

I am an avid collector of vintage cameras, ones that work, and I love the photos they come out with.

Just before Christmas I took in three rolls of film to Jessops and before getting them back they closed. Now after weeks and months of waiting I got my developed photos back in the post yesterday! There's nothing better than looking back at developed photos and remembering all the photos you took and forgot about. Needless to say here are some of my favourites.

Geo Law

A while back me and Dave tagged along with the (extremely talented) Geo Law when he was commissioned to draw on a bunch of walls for a games company in Sheffield called Sumo.

Honestly it was probably the most entertaining shoot from last year although Geo didn't get as much done with me and Dave there! We spent a lot of time collectively filming, drawing and eating too much especially when it came to visiting Chao Baby. It was interesting to see how artists approach bigger scale pieces and as Geo put it, it was his 'Sistine Chapel'.

So here's the finished product after our editor Matt gave it his sweet touch (it's lower quality so I could upload it but the original is on my Vimeo page):

The reason I love YouTube

My friend just sent me this video

I love videos like this. Send it to someone who you think needs a bit of a boost, goodness knows it lifted my day!

Filming

So my main past time when I'm not at Uni or working is filming. I say past time but this is what I want to do for the rest of my life.

ANYWAYS...

Me and two others made a few videos for an event called 'The Tuesday Club' (and it's wicked you should check it out) which at the minute takes place mainly at The Leadmill. It's basically a gig night for DJs and it happens pretty much every week.

My filming buddy Dave (bit of a genius) and I usually head down around eleven and get to meet all the artists beforehand and then get on stage to film. I'm not gonna lie you do feel a bit like a rock star so it's awesome getting to get all that awesome footage.

Our editor Matt (also a bit of a genius) is an insane editor and he always gives us a really strong edit. And with the amount of footage we get he deserves a medal for trawling through it all to find the best bits! Anyways here are a few of the videos we've done for The Tuesday Club.

Yorkographs

So last week I decided to visit York. And although it was freezing and I had to take shelter in one of York's many tourist shops and browse the range of tea towels, I actually had a really nice time! Recently I've been using my camera to film so I thought it'd be nice to just get back into taking photos. Admittedly I'm not a fantastic photographer but a few things caught my eye. The first thing that really got my attention were these mega detailed lampposts:

So I carried on walking into the city centre with my eyes firmly on the pavement (after a near miss with a Chinese, what I can only assume by her camera, Tourist) and head straight for somewhere I vaguely know the location of, The Minster. On the way I passed by Betty's tea shop which from past experience in their cafe in Harrogate I can say does the nicest Scones, I'll save that for later though.

Alas when I got to the Minster I decided that I couldn't pay the entry fee (blame student loans and a poor wage!) so I explored the gardens to the side instead.

Someone had also made some very lovely snowmen.

But not two minutes after I had taken this photo a group of American children came and kicked them over! So I headed back to Betty's and had a lovely helping of sausage and mash with a cup of their own coffee and slowly made my way back to the train station. In fact the same Lady I had been sat next to on the train coming was on the same train back!
