Yorkographs

So last week I decided to visit York. And although it was freezing and I had to take shelter in one of York's many tourist shops and browse the range of tea towels, I actually had a really nice time! Recently I've been using my camera to film so I thought it'd be nice to just get back into taking photos. Admittedly I'm not a fantastic photographer but a few things caught my eye. The first thing that really got my attention were these mega detailed lampposts:

So I carried on walking into the city centre with my eyes firmly on the pavement (after a near miss with a Chinese, what I can only assume by her camera, Tourist) and head straight for somewhere I vaguely know the location of, The Minster. On the way I passed by Betty's tea shop which from past experience in their cafe in Harrogate I can say does the nicest Scones, I'll save that for later though.

Alas when I got to the Minster I decided that I couldn't pay the entry fee (blame student loans and a poor wage!) so I explored the gardens to the side instead.

Someone had also made some very lovely snowmen.

But not two minutes after I had taken this photo a group of American children came and kicked them over! So I headed back to Betty's and had a lovely helping of sausage and mash with a cup of their own coffee and slowly made my way back to the train station. In fact the same Lady I had been sat next to on the train coming was on the same train back!

Later gators.
